Peteetneet and Its Elevator

As our community ages, the need for an elevator in the three story Peteetneet Museum, and Cultural Arts Center became more apparent. Now, after nearly four years - The elevator is completed. It looks very attractive and riders are totally amazed when the elevator door opens and the light streams in. It is an attraction you won’t want to miss.
Thanks to all the fantastic volunteers who didn’t get paid because they are worthless, but because they are priceless. By volunteers, I mean the many, many of you who gave of your time or knowledge to help us whenever we called upon you. No one is more cherished in this world than someone who lightens the burden of another.
Also we want to say "thank you" to all the wonderful hosts and hostesses who put up with the construction, and everything in disarray for all that time, and who still carried on, and gave tours, in spite of our mess. Our volunteers are definitely "love in motion" and their love for Peteetneet certainly shows. Our volunteers do make a very big difference! Thanks again for your support.
The elevator awaits you!
We would like to take the opportunity at this time to give special thanks to Marva Loy Eggett for spearheading this project. She has spent countless hours working toward the installation of this addition to Peteetneet. There are many others that deserve a great big “Thanks You” for their assistance and dedication of fund raisers, grants, donations and in any other way they helped us with this wonderful project. Take the opportunity to visit and ride the new elevator.
The elevator had a formal dedication on Saturday, October 4, 2008. See the new beautiful hallway entrances on all three floors and the beautiful tiled mosiac floor in the lower level entry. There are new displays on the lower level now in place. We have also just completed a new handicapped restroom on the lower level as well. We'd like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Wilson for the many hours they spent on installing the beautiful mosiac tile by each elevator entrance and the lower level of the museum.
